How to List Any Item on eBay

Part 1 – Using Free AI Tools to Identify and Research Any Item

In part one of the series How to List Any Item on eBay, I will teach you how to use free AI tools to identify and research any item that you want to sell on eBay.

📌 Prerequisites

Before beginning this lesson, make sure you have:

  • ✔️ Set up your free eBay seller account (link to your eBay setup post)
  • ✔️ A basic understanding of how to open and use Google Lens (link to your Google Lens tutorial)
  • ✔️ A basic understanding of how to open and use Copilot on your phone or computer (link to your Copilot intro post)
  • ✔️ A few items around your home that you’re willing to sell

I use Copilot in this lesson but you can use any free or paid AI tool if your choice in its place if you want.

✅ Step 1: Find Something Around Your Home that you can sell.

It doesn’t have to be brand new it just has to be in good condition:

  • Kitchen gadgets
  • Books
  • Shoes
  • Decor
  • Tools
  • Toys
  • Electronics

Don’t have a clue what to list? Go check out the wide range of things in my eBay store to see if you have anything like what I have (insert link to store)

✅ Step 2: Open Google Lens

You can access Google Lens:

  • Inside your phone’s camera app (Android)
  • Inside the Google app (iPhone)
  • Through the Google Lens app

✅ Step 3: Scan the Item

  • Point your camera at the item
  • Tap the screen to scan
  • Scroll through the results

Google Lens Will Show You many links to items that look similar to your item, from those you can:

  • Get an idea of what exactly you have
  • Possible Model or Version of it
  • What it’s used for
  • Keywords you’ll need later

Write down or take note of your items particular :

  • Brand
  • Model
  • Color
  • Size
  • Any identifying features

✅ Step 4: Use Copilot to Research Your Item

Now that Google Lens has identified your item, Copilot can help you understand it better and prepare for pricing and listing.

Open Copilot on your phone or computer. You can use it:

  • In the Copilot app (optional)
  • In your browser at copilot.microsoft.com
  • For Free, an unlimited amount of times all without creating an account

Type this prompt:

“I scanned an item with Google Lens. Here is what it identified: [paste brand/model/keywords]. I want to list it on eBay. Can you please give me an SEO title and description as well as any item specifics I will need to list the item. Please give results that I can copy and paste into eBay.”

Copilot will help you:

  • Write an SEO optimized title in an eBay ready format
  • List any item specifics you need to fill in
  • Write and format a ready to copy and paste SEO optimized description of your item

Optional but recommended:

  • When you are telling Copilot about your item Press the + button
  • To upload a clear photo of your item to ensure it has all details it needs.
